Kerry needs a mobility scooter and additional toilet support frames and assistance furniture for her attempt to return to work next term. I don't know how she's gping to do it, but she's going to make it work, but her determination is admirable! She has used your gracious funds so far to pay for many medical and mobility equipment items. If you are looking for something wonderful to do to support her - this is the best way. NDIS denied her application because her illness isn't permanent. So if it takes her a year torecover, then it's up to Kerry to keep going and do all she can without their help. Your love and support keep her going and it's greatly appreciated.
As you all know, our wonderful mate, Kerry, contracted a serious virus that attacked her nervous system and completely debilitated her. Anyone who knows Kerry knows that she won't be sitting around feeling sorry for herself either. Over the past few weeks we have watched her working tirelessly to regain her strength, to walk, to stand, to use her hands, to do the simplest things we take for granted everyday, and do it all with a positive attitude in hope that she will soon be able to look after her 3 year old son all by herself and get back to work.
Although she is amazing her doctors and therapists with her outstanding performance everyday, which, if you know Kerry, wouldn't surprise you, she still has a way to go before she can return to her family, work and life without the help of her family and friends. Some of us are lucky enough to live close to her and can often help out with chores around her lil farm, and most importantly with looking after her lil Charlie, making sure he feels loved and secure whilst his mother is away.
Her sick leave and long service leave will eventually run out, and we can all imagine what stress this will be placing on her after recently purchasing her first property.
If you feel helpless just watching her struggle and battle through her therapy, unable to assist but are cheering her on, then here is a way for you to do something that will make an impact. Let's support this amazing woman, our friend, a genuinely great human by giving what we can. You can make multiple donations if you like - every little bit will help.
Additionally, Kerry is going to need to buy some disability assistance furniture / equipment to help her me more independent when she's able to go home. Your support will help purchase these items.
