On Labor Day, September 1, our dear friend Kenny Champion was swimming in the ocean when a wave picked him up and slammed him headfirst onto the shoreline. The impact broke his C7 vertebra. Thankfully, he is expected to recover, but his doctors anticipate approximately three months of healing before he can return to work.

As many of you know, Ken is self-employed. That means while he’s focused on recovery, he won’t be able to earn an income — and the bills don’t stop. His monthly expenses for rent, food, and utilities makes this time especially difficult.

We’re starting this fundraiser to ease some of that burden so Ken can concentrate fully on his health and healing. Our ultimate goal is to raise $15,000, which will help cover his basic living expenses for the next three months.
