1/14/25, Kenna was outside playing with neighborhood kids and her pet friends, like any typical day for her. The love of being outside turned tragic moments after we heard the train pass. We're not sure if she was hit directly by the train or had nowhere to go and jumped from the tracks. Multiple neighbors checked their surveillance cameras, but no luck finding exactly what happened. The only footage caught is of Kenna running and playing. We rushed her to Sherwood Animal Hospital. With great care and tedious examination, it was found that Kenna's spine suffered a traumatic injury, corneal abrasions to the right eye, along with wounds to her body. It's uncertain the extent of the paralysis due to her being on pain meds and sedatives to prevent movement. The wrong turn of her body can cause complete paralyzation. She needs surgery for rod placement to support her spine in order to make a complete recovery and get back to playing with Rylee and others. Our life has been turned upside down. Though she is not human, she means so much to Rylee and is a part of our family that we can't fathom losing.
