Helping Kelvin recover

Donation protected
Hi everyone

This is jules’s kids Amy, Holly and James. As you are aware our mums partner Kelvin Baker was involved in an accident on Sunday the 9th of January 2022. Kelvin and mum (jules) were in Melbourne celebrating a 50th when at the end of the night as they were leaving the party kelvin slipped down some stairs resulting in him falling onto his head instantly loosing consciousness. Kelvin was rushed to the Alfred where his care was taken over by the trauma team, neurosurgical team and the intensive care team. Today the 18th of January kelvin remains on a Ventilator in an induced coma or in other words to put in blunt on life support. He has sustained a fractured skull and bleeds on his brain which has caused his brain to have high pressures. He has also unfortunately developed a chest infection as a direct result of needing a ventilator for such an extended period of time. Thanks to COVID he has been unable to have any visitors so mum has not been able to be there with him and support him which you can all appreciate how incredibly hard that has been for her. At this stage we have no idea what impact these traumatic brain injuries have had or will have on kelvins life and we have no idea how long kelvin may need off work and without an income. Yes there is sick leave and annual leave to be used but we all know they don’t last forever. Kelvin is the type of guy we all know would be the first to help anyone with anything and be there for any body. Mum is also someone who would do anything for anyone but never ask for help when she most needed it. At this stage so many of you kind people have provided mum with so much support and we know she really appreciates it. So many people have asked how can I help, what can I do. I’m asking if anyone would like to help and can help a small donation would be greatly appreciated so that mum and kelvin do not have to stress about money at a time where kelvin will need mum the most. If your not in a position to donate that is absolutely ok and we totally understand that. But if you can I know mum and kelvin would be so grateful so that they can focus on helping kelvin to return home and begin to heal. Thank you so much for reading this and for being there for mum. If you could share this to your social media we would also really appreciate it. Stay safe!!

Kind regards

Amy, Holly and James
