Helping Kathy Get Back on Her Feet

Hi, my name is Ashley Lambert, and I am fundraising for a colleague and a friend, Kathy Buttrum. As some of you know, Kathy's life has changed drastically over the last 18 months. In 2021, she was diagnosed with ALS and has gone from being independent to now being in a wheelchair full time. So many things we take for granted, like letting out the dog, getting a glass of water or getting out of bed, are not possible for Kathy right now. I say right now because I want to remain positive, and if anyone in this world can beat ALS, it's Kathy! They have purchased a wheelchair van and have made significant changes to their house. There are many expenses not covered by Manitoba Health. I want to help her with funds to buy the UpLyft seated self-transfer device that can be attached to her wheelchair. It sells for approximately $9K USD, and raising any amount will help alleviate some financial burdens.

Kathy continues to work and has spent much time and effort supporting her colleagues.
