Helping Justin Get Better
Donation protected
On August 31st Justin had 3 severe grand maul seizures of still unknown causes. He was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center where my mom (Athena) or I (Ceci) have been with him 24/7 in the ICU. It has been a very bumpy road, a long haul so far and a long road ahead. We never expected to be here this long, and the cost to remain close to Harborview has been immense. Costs to be in extended stay accomodations, paying for parking and food, coupled with lost wages are all areas funds will be going. With at least 2 more weeks in the ICU and 2 further weeks once Justin 'graduates' to a lower level of care at Harborview, our costs are not sustainable. Mom will likely have to take FMLA without pay, I also have not been able to work. Any help you can provide will go directly to our continued support of Justin and getting him through this unexpected and significant medical event. Justin has been heavily medicated and intubated since his initial seizure. It has been touch and go his entire stay. He developed severe respiratory failure 4 days into his stay and it has been a constant battle to keep him alive. There have been significant setbacks, but also signs of progress. We are doing our best to remain hopeful and positive. Justin is such a quirky beautiful soul. He is like no other and we love him so much. While we don't know what state he will be in when he wakes, we will do whatever it takes to do right by him and get him well. His care is further complicated by his Autism, Bipolar Disorder, Cystic Fibrosis and other medical needs. He has lived with family his entire life and is dependent on mom for many things. The needs are now going to be much higher long term and any extra donations will go towards respite care. We thank you deeply in advance for anything you can spare. Thank you all.
