Our beloved bartender & USBG Austin President, Jules Comtois, recently faced a shocking and devastating act of vandalism. After finishing her shift at The Eleanor on the evening of Saturday, August 23rd, she returned to the parking garage to find her car — an essential tool she relies on daily for work — completed thrashed. Her vehicle’s windshield and all of its side windows, the driver’s side door, and multiple quarter panels were smashed, bashed, pried open, and/or heavily scratched. At this time, the police are investigating, but the culprit remains unknown.

To make matters worse, Jules’ insurance does not cover vandalism, leaving her responsible for the extensive repairs herself. This unexpected expense, combined with the inability to use her car for work, has placed a heavy financial burden on her.

We are coming together as a community to help ease this stress and get Jules back on the road. The funds raised will go toward:

• Towing her car safely to a repair shop.

• Paying for necessary repairs to make her vehicle drivable once again.

• Covering lost wages while her car is out of commission.

Jules is known for her infectious smile, her dedication to her craft, her positive energy behind the bar, and the joy she brings to every guest at The Eleanor. It’s our hope that this malicious act does not disrupt her life or her finances more than it already has.
