Hello, My name is Brandy Moncada. I am a close friend of Jozef and the Safko Family, owners of Sunrise Gymnastics in Berlin, Vermont. Jozef (54) is the happy husband of Wendy and proud father of TienYa (13) and ZenTy (6). Jozef and Wendy moved to Vermont a few years ago to live out their dream of owning a gymnastics facility. Jozef is known, throughout Vermont and New Jersey, as a high energy, positive and loving coach. Until December, Jozef was healthy and vibrant. On December 5th, Jozef was admitted to a hospital in Berlin, Vermont for breathing problems due to Covid-19. He later developed a bacterial lung infection and was moved to the ICU. He had further complications causing both of his lungs to collapse and was transferred to a hospital in Burlington right before Christmas. Jozef has remained positive and hopeful through this whole situation. Wendy and the kids are supporting him the best they can. My hope is that he will remain stable and continue to heal, but he has permanent lung damage and will need time and support during his recovery. For now, we want to show the Safko family our love and support. Jozef not being able to coach in the gym is a hardship for the family.
