Joshua Gifford, my nephew, was badly burned in an accident while burning yard debris on Saturday, April 4, 2026, experiencing extensive burns on his face, both arms, and both legs. He is currently in the USA Medical Center Burn Center ICU, facing a long and challenging road to recovery. There is an expectation of several months in the ICU and hospital with multiple surgeries ahead, followed by weeks if not months of rehab. Watching someone so young and vibrant go through this kind of pain is heartbreaking beyond words, and it has deeply affected everyone who knows him.

Josh is full of life and brings so much joy to everyone around him. As many of you know, Josh is a lineman and at this point we are unsure if or when he will be able to return to work. We are expecting no income for months. Since the accident, his family and friends have been by his side, and we are so thankful for their love and support. The funds raised through this campaign will help pay Josh’s mortgage and bills, and go toward his hospital bills. This support will ease the financial burden and help Josh focus on his healing and well-being rather than worrying about expenses. Josh's mom, Tracy Gifford, my sister-in-law, will be the beneficiary and will withdraw the funds to help make sure things are taken care of so Josh does not have to worry about them. Tracy is with him daily and and will have access to directly pay his bills with the donated funds. Your generosity will help ensure that Josh can recover surrounded by the love and support of his family and friends every step of the way.
