Helping John's Battle

Cancer is a venomous monster that takes
the life of over 600,000 people a year.
We have all seen the painstaking damage it
does to the human body, as well as, the
sobering effects it has on the individuals spirit.  It can also unleash devastation on the family’s finances as they search for ways to comfort
their loved one in their time of need.   It forces
those who are sick to make excruciatingly
painful decisions associated with their last
rights or making financial decisions that could impact their loved ones for a long time.

John never fell short on his ability to make
people smile.   His gregarious, easily
approachable personality personified a
trust worthy nature that people migrated
towards.  John absolutely loved bowling and
was part of an adult bowling league for over
15 years, where he continued to be a large
party of the community around him.   John is
also a proud Maryland resident and loves
Baltimore professional sports like the Orioles and Ravens.  John had also played baseball
when he was in high school earning all star
accolades and never hid his enthusiasm for
the game.  In addition, John loved the open
water and would go boating whenever
possible. Above all, John loves his family and
friends and is one of the most loyal people you would ever know.

In late 2017 John noticed a large bulge
forming on his neck.  The growth was not
painful, but just more of an annoyance.  With
the encouragement of loved ones John went
to get it looked at.  It was determined that he
had cancer of the lymph nodes and was
prepped for emergency surgery to remove the tumor.  The process included going through
the jugular and under the tongue to remove it.
The aftermath led to a lingering and painful
recovery.  After enduring this John had to go
through multiple rounds of chemotherapy
Through the process John never complained.
Instead , he called his friends to see how they were doing and took care of his family.   When John visited the Doctor for a follow up, they
had informed him that the cancer was in stage 4 and metastasized to his lungs.  There was no further treatment that they could recommend

John was sent home to be with his family and his health started to deteriorate quickly.  His
son JC welcomed a beautiful baby boy to the
family.  Although he was euphoric to have a
new grandson, he is too weak to hold him in
his arms.  To make matters more difficult,
family members have seen hours reduced and payrolls slashed due to the effects of
COVID-19.  John did not have life insurance
through his employer and the current
pandemic has created a strain to get him the
skilled nursing attention that he needs to
reduce his pain.  Furthermore, the family is
having to find ways to pay for hospice care at
home which can cost upwards of $4k a month. Not to mention, Johns insurance will be
running out within the next couple of months driving up his costs of mandatory
prescriptions.   Lastly, in the end the family willneed to help pay to give John a posthumous
tribute that he deserves, which can cost $7k-$10k as well.

** I pray that everyone and anyone can help
John and his family during this time of need.
Please help us REACH OUR GOAL.   Any
contribution could help create peace and
solace to this beautiful family in this most
troubling time.  All proceeds will go the the
family of John Kerr to help with medical and
bereavement costs.  May God Bless You All**
