In March, my husband John (Santa) went to the ER with flu-like symptoms. After finding out he was severely dehydrated and receiving IV fluids, he was given a CT scan looking for gallbladder problems. What they found was a 6cm tumor on his kidney. No one wants to hear CANCER, but that's where we are at. After seeing our urology oncologist at U of Michigan, it has been decided that they will remove his kidney.

We are terrified but faithful. The problem is that he will likely be out of work for an extended period of time. No short-term benefits are offered.

It's so scary to think that we are dealing with this and now we have to worry about money.

But we do.

I'm asking for help to just stay afloat.

Nothing more.

I don't know what medical bills will be, but I can't think of that now.

Just helping John through this is the goal.

Whatever help you can spare.

I've never asked for charity. I've given when we can, given our time and our love to many.

Just hoping we can get through this without the burden of money problems.
