A Heartfelt Appeal to Support My Husband's Journey to Healing

Dear Friends, Family, and Kind Strangers,

I hope this message finds you in good health and high spirits. Today, I come to you with a heavy heart and a plea for help that holds immeasurable importance in my life and the life of my husband, Joseph Bombace. When I met my husband I met the duo Joe and Johnny who was his buddy for more than 15 years. Johnny, the handsome and loving cat accepted me right away in the “club”. His love for Johnny and compassion for others is one of the characteristics that showed that he was a good person and also that he always helped his friends and family when they needed him.

Three years ago, on 20th June 2020, our lives were forever changed when he suffered a terrible accident that left him paralyzed from the waist down. Since that day, we have faced countless challenges and learned to find strength in the face of adversity.

Every day, we are reminded of the difficulties he endures just to accomplish the most basic activities that most of us perform effortlessly. Tasks as simple as bathing, dressing, and getting out of bed have transformed into battles that demand not only physical strength but also immense mental resilience. These normally simple daily tasks have turned our lives upside down. Still, Joe faces these challenges with unwavering bravery and an unyielding spirit. His resilience inspires every single day, and it is this very courage that drives us to seek a solution that could potentially change his life. We also are thankful to our friends that they have become our family since they were and are always there when we have needed them.

The burden of financial strain adds to our struggles, and we have found ourselves grappling to make ends meet, let alone afford the medical treatment that holds the promise of restoring some semblance of a normal life for him.

In the midst of these challenges, we have discovered a glimmer of hope: stem cell treatment. This groundbreaking medical procedure has shown incredible potential in aiding the regeneration of damaged spinal cord tissues. The treatment offers the possibility of restoring movement and sensation, and it could be the key to transforming my husband's life. However, this hope comes with a hefty price tag that is beyond our means.
