Hey friends/family,

I'm Jim's sister, Cherie, and have set this up on his behalf with his permission. Most of you have heard now, but for those that haven't, he had a pretty rough weekend. On Saturday he was robbed at gunpoint. They took his truck and everything in it including things others had given him money to bring back from the US, gifts for his friends and family, supplies for the food bank, his wallet with cash, his phone, his laptop with all of his pictures from his Army deployments and more. By the grace of God he is alive, but understandably devastated. 

For those that don't know, when the pandemic started, he and a few others turned their restaurant into a food bank that now serves 3000 families weekly. It's 100%  volunteer and donation based. He just recently bought the truck so that he could better serve those in need. While he may be a little rough around the edges at times, those that know him also know he cares more about others than most anyone you'd ever meet. He'd give you the shirt off his back if you needed it, even if it was the last one he had. 

With everything stolen, he estimates he lost around $10,000 in cash/supplies/goods in addition to the truck. While he has filed with his insurance, they will not replace the items in the truck. And, even if they pay out on the truck, he'll take a financial hit there as well with the deductible and with having to continue making the payments until that is sorted. Our family has been overwhelmed with messages of well wishes and support, but also requests for us to set up a GoFundMe. Through this platform, there is a transaction fee of 2.9% plus $0.30 per donation. (Please send one of us a message if you prefer PayPal or Zelle as I have those also.) All of the funds received will be sent directly to Jimmy and will be used to replace the items lost.
