Jill Batchelder and her two beautiful daughters, Lauren and Alyssa, are facing a heartbreaking loss after the sudden passing of their beloved husband and father, Mike Batchelder. This tragedy has left their family in shock, and they are now trying to navigate life without his love, support, and presence. Jill is a dear friend and devoted mom whom many in the Melrose community know through her volunteering in the schools, theater program, and dance. She is always the person who shows up for others with kindness, support, and a caring heart. We now need to do that for her.

Mike was a longtime member of the Melrose community, born here and raising his family here. He enjoyed supporting his kids at sporting events and theater shows. His love for his family and pride in his girls were evident in everything he did, and his loss has left an immeasurable void in their lives. Driven by a deep sense of civic duty and love of country, Mike proudly served for 21 years in the Army National Guard. He remained deeply committed to supporting fellow veterans throughout his life, serving as a certified suicide prevention volunteer counselor for veterans. This heartbreaking event has changed everything for their family. Jill now faces the challenge of supporting her daughters both emotionally and financially, all while managing the demands of work and home life.

Jill is doing her best to support her girls through this incredibly difficult time. Still, the challenges ahead are overwhelming, all while navigating the grief and challenges that come with losing their father and husband so unexpectedly. Jill is doing everything she can to support her daughters emotionally while also managing the overwhelming financial responsibilities that now fall solely on her shoulders. There are many unexpected expenses and day-to-day needs that have become even more difficult to manage. The funds raised through this campaign will help Jill, Lauren, and Alyssa get back on their feet as they move forward, providing some stability and relief as they adjust to their new reality.
