Helping Jenny Heal

Due to a horrific auto accident back in Oct 2019, our sister, Jenny, is blessed to be alive.

She had brain trauma and has many plates throughout her face/ head due to scaffolding that went through the right side of her face during the accident.

Her brain injuries have subsided with exception to short term memory issues and inability to sleep without medication but improving. She still has at minimum 5 surgeries to undergo.

She has been trying to get assistance through disability but it is a long process and still hasn't even gotten a date for examination.

Remaining surgeries:

Face: Flap reconstruction. They had to remove large portion of thigh to cover the right side of her face that was damaged. Two surgeries completed and at least two more surgeries to go.

Eye: In addition to losing an eye, the eyelid and eyebrow was ripped off as well. Plastic surgeon will work with eye doctor to determine if able to use prosthetic eye.

Ear: Although initially able to reattach the right ear, the canal had been closed off due to scar tissue. Therefore unable to hear in the right ear. Necessary surgery considered major due to potential skin growth behind closure that will start to eat through any bone that survived.

Mouth: Jaw was broken. Missing several teeth and loss of bone on the upper jaw where all molar teeth are missing on the right side. Bottom teeth all broken but still in place. Only able to open mouth little over an inch. A bone infection has set in lower jaw bone as well. This will be a long process as they will have to reform/regrow upper jaw bone before any dental work can be started. Also lost and broke most of the front teeth which will require error partials or bridges to repair.

Broken clavicle: Was left unattended during 2 months in hospital, due to the more extensive injuries, although healed, it is not straight and will need to be broken and reset to get full mobility in her right arm.

We are just trying to be as proactive as possible so she can return to driving and working again ASAP. She is very strong-willed and determined to return to a normal life. Until then she is in need of help with medical cost, bills, and daily costs of living.

Thank you for your attention and your selfless act of kindness.

Sincerely,

Becky Grasty and Jenny Britt
