I’m writing on behalf of someone incredibly special—Jenna (Jennifer Brazil), a dear friend who means so much to me. Jenna has been my best friend for nearly fifteen years. She has been there for me through so many monumental moments in my life, including the birth of my child and my dad passing.
If you know Jenna, you know she is one of the most giving, outgoing, and hardworking people out there. She has a heart that shows up for everyone—always putting others first, always helping, and always caring. She has spent years supporting families, nurturing children, helping her parents, and caring for pets—doing it all with patience, warmth, and a genuine smile. She is truly the kind of person who gives without ever expecting anything in return.
In mid-February, Jenna’s life changed in an instant and turned her life upside down.
She was involved in a serious 5-car accident on I-25 in Denver, Colorado. Her car was struck multiple times at very high speeds and ultimately totaled—an incredibly traumatic experience that has left her physically, emotionally, and financially overwhelmed.
Since then, Jenna has been facing significant injuries affecting both knees, ankles/feet, hips, her wrist, shoulder, elbow, as well as her back, neck and tailbone. What started as pain and uncertainty has now turned into a long and difficult road ahead. She is currently scheduled for ankle surgery, mid June, and will be non-weight-bearing for several weeks before transitioning back into a walking boot. There is also the possibility of additional hip surgery as she continues healing and works through rehabilitation after her ankle procedure.
Right now, Jenna is doing everything she can just to get through each day. She is in a walking boot, using multiple braces, relying on crutches at times, and unable to work full-time in her physically demanding career as a nanny and household manager—a role she truly loves and has dedicated her life to.
She is now navigating ongoing medical care, multiple specialist appointments each week, MRI scans, procedures, and months of recovery ahead, including physical therapy and rehabilitation. The emotional weight of the unknown, combined with the physical pain, has been incredibly overwhelming. Even as weeks and months have passed, she is still in pain every single day.
On top of all of this, Jenna has faced urgent life changes. She had no choice but to move from her second-floor apartment with no elevator, where the stairs had become not just difficult—but unsafe after tripping & falling plus the daily struggles getting up and down. Because of this, she had to quickly hire movers and relocate to a more accessible apartment in Denver, closer to her medical care and better suited for recovery.
She is also without a vehicle after the accident, making even the simplest tasks—like getting to appointments or picking up essentials—feel incredibly stressful and expensive. Right now, she is relying on the kindness and availability of others just to get where she needs to go, or using a rental car that she can no longer afford to keep daily.
We are hoping to raise $10,000 to help Jenna with:
• Safe and reliable transportation to and from medical appointments and occasional work her body can tolerate (whether through leasing a vehicle or covering Uber/Lyft during recovery) • Last-minute moving costs and security deposit • Ongoing medical expenses, including prescriptions, specialist visits, and mounting out-of-pocket costs • Premade meals, recovery essentials, and day-to-day support during healing
Every single dollar, share, and act of kindness makes a difference. Even reaching part of this goal would help take some of the weight off Jenna’s shoulders so she can focus on what matters most—healing.
If you’re able to donate, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. If not, sharing this would mean just as much. Support can also come in so many ways—bringing a home-cooked meal, helping post-op, stopping by for a friendly visit, or simply checking in and sending love.
We also have an Amazon wishlist for items that will help support her day-to-day life during recovery: https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/1NG4ZYQHGLB9D?ref_=wl_share
Jenna has always been there for others, and now it’s our turn to be there for her.
Thank you for your kindness, your support, and your compassion during this incredibly difficult time.
