Hi there! My name is Jemaine (Jem), I’m a trans man and I will be getting gender-affirming top surgery on July 21st, 2026! This is a huge, overwhelming, exciting opportunity for me, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the words of support I’ve received from family, friends and clients. This procedure will bring me so much relief, mentally and physically, and I’m very much looking forward to feeling more at home in my body.

Because of the physical nature of my job as a hairstylist, I will have to take a pretty big chunk of time off work post-surgery. I’m looking at 7 weeks off with a slow part-time return to my usual hours after that, which means I will be taking a significant financial hit by not working for almost two months. If you are able to help out, your donation is so appreciated as it will let me recover without worrying about rent, bills, and food. I am hoping to raise $5,000 in order to cover all of the above, plus any remaining surgical costs left over after insurance.
