Our family is heartbroken to share that Jay Bushey, our beloved uncle, brother, and friend, was recently diagnosed with stage four pancreatic cancer. His diagnosis came suddenly, and doctors have now given him only weeks to live.

Jay is a devoted husband to Leanna and an incredible father to Spenser and Mindy. He is also a deeply loved third-grade teacher who has spent his career shaping young lives with patience, kindness, and humor. For years, Jay’s classroom has been a place of safety, encouragement, and curiosity, and the impact of his teaching reaches far beyond his students—touching families and colleagues alike.

In addition to the emotional weight of this diagnosis, the family is now facing the reality of being without Jay’s income, creating an overwhelming financial strain during an already unimaginable time.

Right now, their only focus should be on being together—spending these precious final weeks as a family, sharing memories, love, and comfort—without the added worry of how everyday expenses will be managed.
