As many of you may know, we lost our sweet girl Harlow on Saturday morning. Anyone who ever met Harlow would tell you that she was the absolute sweetest, smartest, loving, big teddy bear pup. She was an absolute joy of a soul and the best dog and friend you could ever ask for. Jaymi and Harlow have spent over 6 years together being inseparable, so you can imagine the heartbreak Jaymi, Bre and everyone who loves Harlow is currently experiencing.

Within less than a month, what started as a small bump on Harlow's head grew rapidly into a huge lump tripling in size causing vision issues and eye swelling. Following a series of ER visits, biopsies and an exploratory surgery ending with a skull drainage tube placement, Jaymi and Bre were delivered the news that no paw-rent wants to hear. Harlow was diagnosed with an aggressive and painful bone cancer, Grade 2 Osteosarcoma, with no options for treatment or recovery. This news was unbearable to hear as her illness was progressing so quickly and painfully. Arrangements were just being made for Harlow's end of life for next week, when her health took a completely unexpected turn for the worse overnight Friday. Harlow passed away early Saturday morning in Jaymi's arms while her and Bre were on the way to the emergency vet. The only comfort we can have in her passing is knowing that she is no longer in pain or suffering.

As you can imagine, this has been a horrific experience for everyone who knows and loved Harlow, but most especially her best friend and parent, Jaymi. Jaymi has lost her best friend overnight and has suffered a devastating loss. To make matters worse, all of the expenses incurred between multiple surgeries, ER visits, labs, pain medications and veterinary care are not covered by pet insurance - Harlow's total vet bills are astronomical. It has been a rough time the last 15 months for everyone, and like many people, Jaymi is still looking for work as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. The unbearable loss of a pet and best friend is traumatic enough, compounded with significant financial distress is almost too much to imagine.
