Helping Jamie Klatt Savage

From Friends of Jamie,

If you are not aware, Jamie was recently diagnosed with a severe case of colon cancer. He just recently started receiving chemotherapy and radiation 5 days a week. The current round should end February 3rd. The next round of chemotherapy will be for 18 weeks (4-1/2 months), with hopes of surgery to remove the tumor in mid-June, and then putting in a temporary colostomy bag. The surgeon is hopeful the colostomy will be for approximately 3 months, at which time he will return to Shands Hospital in Gainesville, to reverse the colostomy.

 

This has been a devastating shock to not only Jamie, but also to his friends and clients throughout central Florida and especially the Villages. The financial burden is starting to grow and he is going to need help paying the enormous healthcare charges he is receiving and will receive in the months to come.

He’s trying hard to keep his business going, but it is very difficult with the debilitating effects of chemotherapy and radiation.

 

As many of you know, Jamie has always been very generous with his time doing fundraisers for Special Olympics, ZoBo Kids Project, Dollars for Scholars and so many worthwhile causes in the area. Jamie also volunteers at the local humane society, where he recently adopted his loving dog Oscar. He has provided years of entertainment in The Villages with his concerts for worthwhile causes.

 

Jamie has been in the Salon and Spa industry for more than 30 years as a salon owner/stylist. He also worked many years as a coach/trainer with companies such as Salon Training International, Inspiring Champion and currently still supports Salon Spa Business Solution which is owned by his dear friend (Deb) who lives in San Diego CA.

 

Needless to say, this diagnosis and treatment plan has limited his activities in a big way, being an owner/operator of his own business. The road ahead will be long and expensive, with years of follow-up and testing. We are creating this page to help lessen his financial burden so he can concentrate on his health and his fight.
