Helping James and Brittany

My name is Whitney Brewer, and this is my sister (Brittany), brother in law (James), niece and nephew (Aniston and Tristen).

Just want to take a second to thank everyone for your calls, texts, prayers, and offers of help over the last week. For those that don't know, James was hospitalized last Sunday with pneumonia. We got released Thursday afternoon and was back Friday morning and admitted again. Let me tell yall, this has been brutal on him. I've seen this guy go through a whole lot but never seen him in pain like this. This has been very tough and resistant to antibiotics and the pain has been excruciating at times for him. He has had very very little rest in a week bc of the pain and what seems to be a literally constant uncontrollable cough. He's exhausted. We did get a different (stronger) pain med started this morning that seems to be giving more relief now which we r hoping will cause him to be able to rest more also. We r waiting on test results on a couple of things to hopefully knock this stuff out. Please keep those prayers and positive vibes coming our way!

Since this update, we have learned that he has a complex empyema...which is basically fluid/pus leaking from his lungs into his chest cavity causing the severe pain. So he is being transported to Baptist in LR to do a surgery where they go in with a scope and clean it all out. Depending on what it looks like, he said sometimes they will glue it together so this doesn't happen again. The surgery won't be till Monday or Tuesday.

They were already tight on money and had just finished paying off medical bills from a long time ago, now they are back in the same boat, and this will be one hefty bill. Not to mention the gas my sister is using going back and forth from the hospital, as she is the only one that can stay with him there, while still trying to care for the kids, and all the  work they are missing! Things are about to get very tough especially with Christmas coming and no telling how long a recovery will require. 
Brittany said in our last text that they will probably be paying these bills for the rest of their lives.
