Help Rebuild Westgreen and Catherine Hall After Hurricane Melissa
Hello, my name is Kacia, and I am reaching out from Ontario, Canada. I am a proud Jamaican, a nurse, a wife, and a mother of two. My roots are deeply planted in Montego Bay, where I was born and raised. The recent devastation caused by Hurricane Melissa has left my cherished community in ruins, and I can’t stand idly by.
The areas of Catherine Hall and Westgreen hold a special place in my heart. Just a few months ago, I was there to say goodbye to my beloved father. Now, the very homes and memories we shared have been submerged, leaving families, including my own, in desperate need. The floodwaters have engulfed every home, destroying appliances, clothing, personal items, and so much more.
I lost almost everything in the Jamaican home of my late father, and it breaks my heart to see so many others suffering the same way. I want to channel my feelings of helplessness into action and support those affected by the hurricane. That’s why I’ve started this GoFundMe campaign—to raise funds to help families in Westgreen and Catherine Hall rebuild their lives.
With your help, we can restore hope and provide essential items to those who have lost so much. No contribution is too small, and every dollar counts in making a difference.
I want to personally visit Jamaica to do so, to ensure things go to the people in need. Elderly, single parents, those that are ill, children, EVERYONE!! BUT I can not do it alone. My plan is to ship barrels to Jamaica if possible. If that's not possible. I will be purchasing things in Jamaica and posting these items on my Facebook page as I do. If I am packing barrels I will post all items and receipts and do live giveaways in jamaica of the persons receiving the donations. So I encourage you to assist me to help as much people as possible.
Thank you for your kindness and support. Together, we can bring light back into the lives of those affected by this disaster.
