Helping Jackie and Her Boys Through the Months Ahead

Last week, Stephen passed away unexpectedly at just 40 years old, leaving behind his beloved wife of 15 years, Jackie, and their three beautiful boys, Owen (8), Dylan (5), and Ethan (6 months).

Stephen and Jackie were more than high school sweethearts—they built a life together, growing up alongside one another and creating a family they loved deeply. Stephen was a devoted husband, an incredible dad, and a man whose Christian faith was an important part of who he was.

He was also a librarian, a wealth of knowledge, and the kind of person who could teach you something fascinating about almost anything. He loved learning, sharing what he knew, and making memories with his family. He loved throwing the football with Owen, playing baseball with Dylan, and simply taking naps with baby Ethan. He was the kind of dad who treasured the ordinary moments that become the most precious memories.

In the midst of this unimaginable loss, Jackie is also facing an overwhelming amount of uncertainty. Their youngest son, Ethan, was recently hospitalized after becoming seriously ill with botulism. He is now receiving care in a rehabilitation facility, adding another layer of medical expenses and worry at an already devastating time.

Stephen was the primary provider for their family, and Jackie is now facing the sudden loss of both her husband and their family's primary income while caring for three young children—including a six-month-old baby who is still recovering.

We are asking for help to give Jackie and the boys some breathing room in the months ahead. Funds raised will help with funeral expenses, Ethan's medical and rehabilitation expenses, household and mortgage costs, and the everyday expenses of caring for three young children while Jackie navigates this heartbreaking new reality.

No family should have to face this much loss and uncertainty at once. Stephen was deeply loved by his family, friends, coworkers, and community, and we hope we can surround Jackie and her boys with the same love, compassion, and support that Stephen so freely gave to others.
