So never imagining I would have to write this and I hate to even have to put the words together, but my dear Dad, Jack Grossman, has been diagnosed with aggressive/invasive high grade bladder cancer. The diagnosis and type of cancer is new to us and we are learning all there is to about this disease but we have been told it will be truly a fight for his life at the age of 89. He is healthy in every aspect except his bladder. He does not know yet that his family is asking for help but anything would be appreciated to help with the cost of travel to and from Shands hospital in Gainesville, FL and all the unexpected expenses associated with this unfortunate time. We are trying to unload the financial burden and just have him focus on preparing for inevitable surgery. He is in the best of hands with a very knowledgeable team of urologists and oncologists who are working to find a treatment that my Dad is tolerable of but his age prevents him from having certain treatments such as chemotherapy, which is needed, but would only weaken him and delay surgery and/or make him unable to have the needed surgery. He survived a quadruple bypass surgery with multiple complications at the young age of 80. He’s a fighter. He’s strong. And very humble. He has been my rock and has always been there for my Mom and I. And has always been there for anyone who asked. He sadly needs some help himself now with the navigation through this horrible diagnosis and treatment. From the bottom of our hearts we thank you in advance for any help offered. He truly has lived a good and long life but there’s much more he wants to be around for. And we intend on helping him get through this and thrive with any outcome this brings about.
