I am Tabatha Edmond, a Registered Nurse working at a mental health facility that treats an array of patients that are mentally compromised, or battling drug addiction and homelessness. It can be physically and mentally exhausting work. However, when you believe that a person deserves a second, third, and fourth chance at a good life, it is easy to get up and go to work everyday to take part in making that happen for patients. That same spirit of helping is what I witnessed in Nicholas Levine, a Mental Health Tech that we have had the pleasure of working with at our facility and the reason I am setting up this fundraiser.
On October 15th, Nicholas had an accident and suffered a broken hip. He has had surgery and radiation treatment and is now in recovery mode with home health and physical therapy. He has been informed that his healing process will take anywhere from 3 to 6 months (best case scenario). Unfortunately, Nicholas did not have short term disability and is in need of monetary assistance to carry him through his healing and maintain his cost of living and medical expenses through this downtime.
Nicholas has brought great energy to our facility and is a joy to work with for the staff and the patients. He picks up countless shifts sometimes working 12 night shifts in a row to help make sure the unit stays covered. Going the extra mile time and time again for a patient down on their luck, needing clothes, a backpack, shoes, or whatever to go on to rehab or back out into the community seemed second nature to him. He would run home on his lunch and rummage through his things and bring countless donations so that patients can focus on their sobriety and mental health, rather than stress over their lack of personal items. He is a relentless giver, but today he needs our help.
Please help me give the love and support to Nicholas that he has so unselfishly given to family, friends, patients, and complete strangers. Any monetary assistance to help his financial situation will be greatly appreciated. Prayers and words of encouragement to keep him uplifted mentally and spiritually is also just as important.
"When we sow a seed, we put it in God's hands then watch God graciously and mercifully send the miracle that we need based on our faith."
Thanking you all in advance for being part of the miracle that helps Nicholas through this hardship.
Blessed to be a Blessing!
