Hello everyone,
Our names are Diamond and Mary Knight, and we’re reaching out together with heavy hearts to ask for your kindness and support. Just a couple of days ago, on December 17th, we lost my beloved sister Cassandra Knight. She was only 35 years old, and her birthday was a few days away on Christmas Day. We were preparing to celebrate her life, making her a birthday dinner and cake instead, we are now preparing to say goodbye.
Cassandra was a pillar of strength. She courageously battled lupus, diabetes, and kidney failure, enduring dialysis, hospital stays, and multiple surgeries. Through all of her suffering, she never lost her heart. Cassandra loved giving gifts, loved making people happy and laugh. She was always there for everyone, often doing the most for others even while quietly carrying so much pain herself.
She was the one who held our family together, especially during the holidays. We were looking forward to cooking for her birthday and making sure she didn’t have to worry about anything this Christmas. Mary, her devoted wife, stood by her side through every challenge, loving her deeply and selflessly.
Cassandra also leaves behind her cherished stepdaughter, , Lilaceya whom she lovingly raised since she was just one years old. Cassandra wasn’t just a stepmother she was a mother in every sense of the word. This loss is especially heartbreaking for Lilaceya , who adored her and was deeply loved by her.
As we navigate this unimaginable loss, Mary and I are doing our best to handle everything on our own. Mary is carrying the weight of grief while also facing the financial burdens left behind, and my goal is to make this process as stress-free as possible for her. I want her to focus solely on grieving her wife and laying her to rest with peace and love. Cassandra deserves a beautiful farewell after all the suffering she endured in this life.
Any donation, no matter the amount, would mean more than words can express. If you are unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser or offering words of comfort is deeply appreciated. Thank you for helping us honor Cassandra’s life, her love, and the legacy she leaves behind.
We also want to be transparent and share that while GoFundMe is available, a significant portion of funds can be lost to fees when withdrawing. If you feel comfortable, donations sent directly to Mary via Cash App, Venmo, or Zelle would help ensure that more of your generosity goes straight toward Cassandra’s cremation and services. That said, if GoFundMe is what feels safest or easiest for you, we completely understand and are grateful for your support in any form.
