Helping Holland

Hi, My name is Christi and I am a single mother to two young beautiful daughters, Ava who is 13 and Holland who is 10. My daughter Holland was playing outside in our neighborhood playground shortly after school last Friday on May 19th and she was assaulted by a boy who threw a large size stone at her face which knocked out her two permanent front teeth…he was trying to take her diabetic bag where she keeps her insulin supplies and one of her supplies are her glucose tabs which she takes if her blood sugar is low, but most people assume it’s candy. They played tug of war with her bag and once she gained control of her diabetic bag the boy got angry and threw a stone at my daughters face. Holland is a 10 year old sweet, caring, loving little girl that loves to paint and sing. This child is truly an angel here on earth and only sees the good in people. Holland was was recently diagnosed with Type-1 diabetes and insurance hardly covers her medicine and supplies so I have a lot of out of pockets copays a month.. $600 or more. I recently discovered that her fathers insurance plan does not cover dental procedures other than yearly cleanings. The stone hit her so hard that it busted her lip and broke her teeth at an angle that exposed the pulp so we had to find a dentist who could see her on a Friday afternoon. The dentist bonded her two teeth temporarily until we could find a endodentist so the teeth could later be saved. The dentist explained to me that she has a very long road ahead as I was holding pieces of my daughters teeth in a glass of milk praying the dentist could reapply my babies teeth and make her smile beautiful again. Sadly he wasn’t able to because of the way the teeth were shattered. But what’s important is today and today Holland is having two unnecessary root canals and later this month we have more dental appointments and procedures scheduled that insurance unfortunately does not cover. I have NO idea how I will afford this so I am asking for your help!! All of this has happened so fast, no one could ever imagine the horror I witnessed on Friday by a boy to my little girl and we have had absolutely no offering or help from the parents of the child that did this to her. Holland needs Justice and the other children that this little boy has assaulted deserve justice too. Thank you!!
