- Hello my name is Amanda J Edmonds , I come before you today on behalf of my brother Herman Ortiz and his wife Leatha Ortiz.
- My brother was diagnosed with the most aggressive type of brain cancer (Glioblastoma) 3 days after his 57th birthday . While at work one afternoon he collapsed and was sent to the ER where ct scans were done and a tumor the size of a quarter was found on his brain. He was then admitted to the hospital and surgery was performed . After surgery it was discovered that the right side of his body was paralyzed.As the doctors began physical therapy after his surgery, he began to suffer from mild seizures .The news has absolutely Devastated our family . Herman is a hardworking man , the kind of guy that would help a stranger in need, One who devoted himself to his family and his work. He’s been employed at his job for 20 years and worked 6 days a week sometimes 7 .Not only has his diagnosis left us with a feeling of dread , but it’s also a huge financial burden. As Herman can no longer work , and begins 5 days a week of chemotherapy and radiation, his wife now takes on the the role of being the sole financial provider and caretaker . In order for her to get him the best care possible they have to travel 3 hours a day to get to his treatments . As this is extremely costly , I ask that you please find it in your hearts to help our family by donating or sharing his story. Any amount would be highly appreciated by us all .
