Helping Harmony Fight Through DIPG

Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers,

My name is Kennedy and I am reaching out on behalf of my loved ones, Octavia and Damian Nicholson, regarding their beautiful little girl, Harmony.

Harmony is a brilliant, sweet, and feisty five year old who began experiencing ear pain and headaches a few weeks ago. Her mom, Octavia, took her to her pediatrician for treatment, but the pains persisted. Her mom then noticed she had facial droop on her left-side and took her back to the doctor where she was diagnosed with Bell’s Palsy and given proper medications. Over the next few days, her mom stayed attentive and noticed she seemed to have trouble walking/playing around the house, visibly holding up her left side. That is when her mom immediately took action and went to the emergency room for further treatment.

After multiple rounds of MRIs, they confirmed she has a tumor on her brainstem. On Saturday, 9/30, Harmony was diagnosed with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG). DIPG is an aggressive, cancerous tumor that starts on the brainstem and affects multiple functions including walking, chewing, and eye coordination. Harmony starts radiation treatments next week and then enters a clinical trial to shrink the tumor as much as possible. Harmony is in for a battle and we are relying on the compassion, prayer, and generosity of our village for support!

Every donation received will go directly to the benefit of Harmony. Her parents will need to take time off work to take Harmony to treatments. These funds will help with bills, groceries, gas, and child care for her 2 year old brother, Adonis.
