Helping hands up for Hailea!
Donation protected
On November 24th, 2020 Hailea was a passenger in a serious car wreck that put her in critical condition. She had lacerations and bruising to various organs, some air bubbles in her chest, various bruises and cuts throughout her body, a few head injuries, and numerous broken bones. In addition, Hailea suffered brain injuries that have caused issues requiring cognitive therapy and special neurological physical therapy to try and rebuild skills such as reading, recognition, and both long and short term memory issues.
Hailea is a tough, athletic, and determined young lady that continues to battle through her physical and mental therapies as her body heals. Soon she will transfer from the hospital to home care; which will require her family to take her to therapy 3-times per week, to a facility an hour away from their family farm. Rebuilding Hailea is expected to take almost one year; and we know the real challenges for healing lie ahead and will take the most financial and emotional support.
Hailea is the first Teen Ambassador at ASAR Training and Response, and she had dedicated much of her volunteer time in helping to bring awareness to other teens about her love of animals, technical rescue, and disaster preparedness. As Hailea and her family helped so many others in their community and across the Country over the past years; they never expected to be the family that needed help next. Hailea comes from a very humble and proud family that have taught simple values such as hard work, honesty, help when you can, be part of your community, respect, and find happiness in the simple things in life. ASAR Training and Response recognizes these amazing values and has started this Gofundme page to give Hailea and her family a "hand-up" to help support them for the next challenging year of healing and rehabilitation for Hailea. We ask you to join us and help as you can with a donation, but also help us tell Hailea's story and share her journey of hope!
