Helping Hands & Hope for Hailey
Donation protected
During the early morning hours of October 30, 2021, Hailey “Bug” Herra began what will be the most challenging journey of her life. She was with her best friend Morgan and two others out enjoying the Halloween festivities in Deer Lodge when the evening came to a tragic end. The four young adults were involved in a dreadful car accident that resulted in two of the four friends losing their lives. Hailey was ejected from the car and life flighted to St. Patrick’s hospital in Missoula. She suffered a fracture to her C4 and C6 vertebrae; broke her right humerus in three places; and fractured her thumb and pointer finger on her left hand. Bug has an incredibly long road of recovery ahead of her, both physically and emotionally.
Since the night of the accident Hailey has required 24/7 care. Her mother Alaina has been by her side the entire time being her biggest cheerleader and providing the best care possible to her daughter. Alaina will not be able to return to work for the foreseeable future and when that time does come, she will only be able to do so limitedly based on what kind of care Hailey needs. Additionally, she will be missing a great deal of work over the course of the months ahead, taking her precious daughter to all necessary medical follow up appointments, physical therapy, and counseling appointments.
With the bills stacking up, not knowing what will be covered by health insurance, and the unknown duration of the care Hailey may need at this time any help for this incredible family would be greatly appreciated.
