On July 31st, my boy was involved in a motorcycle accident. He endured many life-threatening injuries and surgeries. He had to have heart surgery and surgery to repair multiple broken bones. While in the ICU on life support, he also endured a stroke, taking the use of his left arm and hand.

We spent 21 days at LeBonheur. Since being home, I have had to resign from my position to become his full-time caretaker. Days were getting better and we thought we were making solid progress, but we were given more devastating news on the 13th of November. Our boy has to have open-heart surgery.

We have been in the hospital since the 13th and are unsure when we may be able to come home. We’ve found that extended stays at the hospital are quite expensive. Between daily food, parking, and other necessities, it has become quite overwhelming for our family. Anything helps at the moment. Even if it’s just your thoughts and prayers.
