Helping Hand for Raleigh Resident's Journey Home

Hello everyone,

I've never done this before, and it's scary. I'm currently in Raleigh NC where I've been for 3 years. I'm from NJ my heart pumps NJ. I was born and mostly raised in the streets of Trenton. I am a proud graduate of college of St. Elizabeth(Morristown). I have always lived life from opportunities that came to me. I discovered at a young age that I had a love for kids. I volunteered a lot in high school, and I was always in some type of program to keep me busy as a teen. I was even selected 2 out of our county to travel to Africa with Operation Smile. I spent 3 weeks teaching kids dental health, & burn care; I was 18!! From then I knew that traveling was my thing. Fast forward during and after college, I became a preschool teacher! I worked in Princeton for 5 yrs. Life started to get tough after losing my mom right after college, and then teaching was not paying much. I decided to go into banking in customer service & another opportunity arose for me to go to AZ with my new company! So I went. I lived there a little over 6 yrs. My family stressed that I was too far b/c of obstacles I ran into. My family & I agreed on me moving out of AZ, and closer to NJ. We decided on NC! I packed my things, said goodbye to my amazing AZ family & drove cross country alone. It took me 7 days! I hired a moving company to deliver my things a few days later. Later turned into weeks, then a month. All of my belongs were stolen! So once again I was starting from scratch again. I had to rebuild. Fast forward to April 2022 I got laid off from my job on my birthday (4/19), I was able to secure employment after but they just laid us off this April. I'm reaching out because I've unfortunately fallen into homelessness. I've been homeless for 5 months.This isn't a joke or a scheme. I'm currently living in my car,& on a waiting list for a bed at a shelter(could take up to 2-4 weeks) I'm currently waiting for unemployment. My family can't exactly come here to get me so I'm asking for help to get back home to NJ. My family and friends are so worried for my safety. I can't even afford to stay in a hotel anymore so I'm sleeping where I can (hospital parking lots, library parking lots, or Walmart parking lots)Anything helps!! I just need to be able to get back to NJ so I would be using the funds for gas($35 each fill up), possibly a moving truck & movers ($600-700), car repairs that are needed for a road trip($1500) & hotel rooms($200) if I need to stop. This is not easy but I appreciate each and everyone of you in advance.
