Helping Hand for Johnny Harris-Major Heart Attack
Donation protected
Family and Friends,
My good friend Johnny Harris suffered a major heart attack on January 8. He was taken to the hospital and had surgery to repair his heart. During the surgery, he coded twice. However, he is a fighter and survived. He spent almost three weeks in the ICU, and a week of that was in a medically induced coma. He is now in the CCU with organs that are not functioning correctly, confusion, and a long road ahead of him. From here, he will need rehabilitation. At this point, they do not know how long that will take.
His wife, Carol, has been by his side the entire time. Johnny and Carol own and operate Atlantis Marine Service, a full-service canvas repair and design shop in Kemah, Texas (just outside of Houston). They are the sole employees of the business; they have no other employees or help. Unfortunately, due to Johnny's heart attack, they are not able to run the business at full capacity. Carol is trying to keep it going while still spending time at the hospital. This is their only livelihood.
When we moved to the Houston area, Johnny and Carol were some of our first friends. We have sailed with them, had dinners together, laughed together, and have remained friends no matter the distance between us. These two are some of the kindest, most generous people I've had the pleasure of calling friends. They have helped us when we needed help and are always ready to lend a hand.
I have started this GoFundMe account to help ease the burden of the typical costs of everyday living, such as rent, food, gas, car, etc. Johnny's medical expenses are unknown at this time. I'm asking that along with your prayers, you will please consider donating so that Johnny can get the medical and rehabilitative care he needs, in addition to allowing Carol to continue to work yet be by Johnny's side when needed.
