Helping Hal McClelland Fight Cancer

Our dear friend, Hal McClelland is fighting a rare type of cancer. In December of 2018, Hal felt some discomfort in his kidney, and scheduled a visit with his doctor. By January 2019, the doctors determined that he had cancer. Chemotherapy was recommended, and he received 4 robust treatments over the next four months. Having completed chemotherapy, the doctors discovered that the cancer was more aggressive than had originally been thought, and has spread to other areas of his body. Hal's doctors are now recommending that Hal be seen at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas, for further examination and treatment. This will require Hal and Gina to spend a significant amount of time in Houston. 
           In August of 2018 Hal retired from the University of Texas at Austin, after serving 23 faithful years as the field supervisor at the Red and Charline McCombs field. His wife, Gina, is having to miss a substantial amount of work in order to support Hal, and their eight year old son, Crosby. Hal's treatment will require that they both travel back and forth from their home in Austin to Houston regularly. Funds collected from your support will help pay for medications, treatment, travel, lodging, and everyday expenses that will accumulate during Hal's battle with cancer.



           We are asking for support for Hal and his family in order to help with medical bills, lost income, care for their son, and any other financial restraints that may come to them during this time in their lives. This is an opportunity to help a man and his family, who is always helping others no matter the need. Hal and Gina will be traveling to Houston within the next couple of weeks.
