Greg Update 11/17/23:
Friends, and family near and far, to everyone that has supported Greg throughout this journey,
I hope this message finds you well. We want to express our deepest gratitude for the incredible support you've all shown since the launch of Greg's Go Fund Me campaign. Your generosity has been a beacon of hope during these very challenging times.
Update on Greg's Health Journey:
Thanks to your support, we've been able to support Greg during these tumultuous times.
Impact of Your Contributions:
Your donations are making a real difference in Greg's life as he has been out of work recovering. We've been able to raise almost $8,500 which has gone a long way in helping Greg cover medical payments, along with keeping up with his car payments and help with living arrangements.
Greg's Health Update:
We have faced unexpected challenges when Greg returned to work back in September. Upon his return, he experienced a MAJOR setback—breaking his leg in three places, which led to a series of complications. Greg underwent surgery, and unfortunately, his foot rejected the hardware intended to repair the broken bones. Concurrently, he developed an infection. He underwent major revision surgery ( Ilizarov Procedure) on the 16th of November. We are hopeful that this will be the turning point, preventing further complications and the risk of losing his foot.
Challenges and Next Steps:
Challenges Faced:
Greg's health journey has been more challenging than anticipated. We want to be transparent about the obstacles he's encountered. Due to the diabetes and the challenges that come with this disease he is currently at risk losing his foot, due to not being able to work and running out of paid benefits, Greg is currently in the hospital and without income. Due to this we are increasing the Goal from $10,000 to $50,000 to help cover medical expenses not covered by insurance, along with helping him cover his other expenses during this time.
How Your Contributions Help:
Despite these challenges, your contributions have played a crucial role in covering medical expenses, surgeries, and ongoing care, and most importantly the time needed for Greg to rest and heal. We remain dedicated and faithful in believing for Greg's full recovery and are working tirelessly to navigate supporting him through these unforeseen challenges.
Next Steps:
With the unforeseen circumstances and the recovery time ahead Greg will need support, he is recovering after surgery and has long road of recovery ahead of him, not only for his foot, but in hopes that he heals quickly so that he can make it on the list for the biggest need which is a kidney/ pancreas transplant which will ultimately be the biggest game changer in the road ahead.
Stay Connected:
Along with the financial support, one of the biggest ways you can support Greg is by reaching out. Dealing with any illness can have long-term effects not only on the physical, but also on the mental. This has been a battle not only on Greg's body, but it is isolating as well, as Greg has spent the majority of this past year in the hospital, on dialysis and unfortunately ALONE. Reach out, give Greg a call, and encouraging text message, he's been taking a lot of time reflecting and reading, send him some book suggestions. In times like this a little goes a LONG LONG LONG way and every encounter through your donations, your sharing, and reaching out is making a world of difference to Greg.
Gratitude:
Once again, thank you, thank you thank you for your unwavering support, your donations, thoughts and prays for Greg as he navigates his healing journey.
With sincerest gratitude,
Greg's Power Family
Dear friends, family, and compassionate souls,
We are reaching out to you with an urgent and heartfelt plea on behalf of our dear friend, Greg Tingle. Greg has faced unimaginable challenges over the past year and a half, and we are determined to rally around him during this critical time in his life.
About Greg:
Greg Tingle, 34 has been an integral part of the Power Home Remodeling since joining the team in October of 2021, pouring his heart and soul into his work. Orginially from NJ, he moved to North Carolina in pursuit of a better life and new opportunities. His dedication to his job and the people around him has always been unwavering, even when he was out of commission he was dedicated to bettering himself, reading books on sales and self improvement, and how to be a better leader he has a hunger for life, for leadership and for the culture of his department and his team.
Greg's Health Battle:
Right as Greg was getting into the swing of things late January 2022, Greg's life took an unexpected turn. He was found in a diabetic coma by his brother, whose quick action ultimately saved his life. Greg spent months in the hospital, battling against all odds to make a remarkable recovery. He is a true testament to the strength of the human spirit. In a cruel twist of fate however, Greg's journey took an unexpected turn when he awoke from the diabetic coma, and was diagnosed with stage 5 renal failure. This is the final stage of kidney failure, and at the age of 33 extremely hard news to grapple with. This devastating condition has drastically altered his life, as he navigates the challenges of a fragile health state. Currently, Greg is unable to undergo the vital kidney and pancreas transplant he desperately needs due to a wound on his foot caused by diabetes. Until this wound heals, the transplant remains out of reach, leaving him facing a grueling and uncertain road ahead.
His medical expenses have already taken a significant toll on his financial stability. Despite the generosity of our company, which provided him with paid leave during his recovery, his time off has come to an end, and he is facing the daunting prospect of returning to work while still grappling with ongoing medical issues.
A Long Road Ahead:
Greg's unwavering determination is commendable. Despite his dire health situation, he has demonstrated remarkable strength and resilience which has been inspiring to our whole department. However, his condition requires ongoing dialysis treatment, a process that may persist for months, if not years, until the wound heals and the possibility of a transplant becomes a reality.
Our Collective Mission:
Today, we come together as a community, bound by compassion and empathy, to extend our hands and hearts to our dear friend Greg. The challenges he faces are not his alone to bear, and it is within our power to alleviate some of the burdens that weigh heavily on him.
How You Can Help:
Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a tangible difference in Greg's life. Your support will help cover his medical expenses, physical therapy costs, and daily living expenses as he takes the necessary steps toward healing. Let's rally together to provide Greg with the safety net he so rightfully deserves.
