Helping Green Turtle Feral Cats
Donation protected
We have been feeding feral cats at the Green Turtle Cay dump, our marina and any we see on the roads each day since last February. In that time many have had litters and we've buried far too many.
On the upside, some have been trapped and taken to the main island for spay/neuter, and a few have been placed in loving homes.
In general, the cats are looking healthier and are welcoming their human friends. Many are ready to go to their forever homes.
There is no shelter, no veterinarian here. It is a journey consisting of first trapping, then a golf cart ride, boat or ferry ride to the main island, then 45 minute ride in a rented car to the veterinarian who comes from Freeport twice a week.
Our hope is to raise funds for spay/neuter clinics, which means bringing a veterinarian here to Green Turtle (this has been done in the past, just been a while). We have a donated location and volunteers in place. We need funds for the vet's travel and (reduced) spay/neuter fees.
In the future the dream is to build a safe shelter.
These sweet souls would appreciate any help you can give!
