Hello animal lovers, my name is Jamie. I have been helping my older friend, who lives in the desert of New Mexico, with her cat rescue program called JJ's Purrrfect Sanctuary. JJ's has helped over 50 cats in the last 16 years with medical, trap & release, and food & shelter. My friend was diagnosed with dementia, and I had to move her back to Atlanta into assisted living and begin to dismantle JJ's. I rehomed 14 of the 20 cats and took one back to Atlanta to rehab.
Meet Gray. He looks like a Russain Blue Manx. The bobtail is natural and not from trauma. I chose him because he was breathing heavily and no one wanted him. He willingly got into a carrier after being feral. He is estimated at 7-8 years old.
Gray had an upper respiratory infection, eye infections, mites and other minor ailments, which we healed with love and medicine. I realized he was not chewing his food and his breath was terrible. His poor teeth are black and causing him such pain. We are on the waiting list for surgery estimated at $3,000. I have already invested $1,100 into his health to date. I will stand by my goal to get him healthy and rehomed to his forever family, but I need some financial help to make this happen. If the bill comes out lower than what we raise, I will send the extra funds to JJ's Perfect Sanctuary in NM to help with the remaining cats that still need attention since my friend Judy is no longer there.
Gray deserves a great life. His personality is starting to shine. He is a social eater and likes to eat with you. He comes when he hears his name and plays with my cats, ferrets, and chihuahua. He is shy to loud noises, though. He snuggles in my bathroom sink, on the chimney shelf, and on my lap. Once he figured out what petting was, it was all he asked for until he discovered cat toys! It took him three weeks before he purred because he was so weak. He is so handsome with a more prominent lower chin and fuzzy legs. I know he will bring joy to his new home every day.
If you can help with his recovery, please do. Every little bit counts.
