Hi, my name is Wednesday McCarthy and I am raising funds to help my mother, Gay Willyard, cover medical and/or living expenses while she bravely fights to conquer cancer.

Gay is a widow, having lost her husband of 51 years in 2017. She is, and always has been, an extremely active member of the El Dorado County community, which is where she has called home for too many years to count!

She works part-time at a retirement village and spends the rest of her ‘free time’ with her family and friends, as well as working in her beautiful gardens both at home and at the EDC Fairgrounds.

If you know my mom, you know she is a tough cookie who previously and successfully beat breast cancer. But, the time has come to fight again!

What we know at this point is that the cancer is gastric in nature and it is a very serious situation, requiring immediate treatment. More details will emerge as we go.

At the end of the day, it will aid tremendously to know that the bills can still be paid while my mom takes the time to receive treatment and heal. My brother, Ed, and I are doing what we can, but we know it’s not enough to cover all monthly costs.
