Helping Gauge Fight Cancer

Donation protected
One of my closest's friends 6 year old son was recently diagnosed with prostate cancer. A couple weeks back Gauge was having a hard time going potty and the Dr.'s thought Gauge might just have a urinary tract infection and put him on antibiotics. After a week of him still being in pain, and not being able to go potty, his mom, Jamie, felt there was something else wrong, more than just a bladder infection, and took Gauge to the ER. At the ER they did an ultra sound and found a tumor in his bladder, which was blocking him from being able to go potty. At that moment they put a catheter in Gauge and made an appointment at Primary Children's Hospital. A couple days later, at Primary Children's, they did a biopsy on the tumor, and more testing, and with a gut wrenching conclusion that Gauge has stage 3 Rhabdomyosarcoma cancer in his bladder and prostate. This is a rapid growing cancer so they have already started chemo. This poor little guy has to go through weekly chemo treatments for 42 weeks (9.5 months) and for 5 weeks, 5 days a week, he will have to be sedated so he can get radiation; the reason for sedation is they cannot take the chance of him moving while he is getting these treatments.  And soon he will not be able to attend school, as his immune system with be gone. His mom, Jamie, and dad, Denny, will be taking him to the hospital weekly, one of them will need to stay home with him everyday once he is not able to attend school, and they will have to take off 5 weeks of work to take him to his radiation appointments and stay most of the day, as again, he will have to be sedated. This poor little guy is so strong and has had nothing but positive thoughts. At one point he even said to his mom, before going to bed, "mom, I hope all those kids at the hospital aren't going through what I am going through, that would be sad". Jamie and Denny have also recently gone through a divorce, but they are working together as a team to try and help Gauge through this. I say this because Gauge is covered under only one insurance, his mom's, which it is a high deductible plan. She will be hitting her out-of-pocket this year and next, because of how long the treatments will last. Her work does not provide FMLA, so she will be taking the 5 weeks off with no pay as well. The donation amount includes her out-of-pocket, monthly bills Jamie and Denny have to pay, that they would not be able to pay due to not being able to go to work; such as car payments, house payment, and all other bills.  Please help donate to this family, and Gauge's fight against cancer, as they are in need of their communities help, even $1 will go a long way if we can get a lot of people to donate. The donations are needed as soon as possible as the bills will very soon start coming in. Thank you all so much for taking the time to read this, and for helping this family out!!!
