This is not easy for us to share, but we’re reaching out with humility and hope.

My husband Gabriel is an incredible father to our five children and has always done everything in his power to provide for our family. He carries that responsibility with pride, and asking for help has never come naturally to him. Behind the scenes, though, the weight of upcoming medical bills and time away from work has been overwhelming.

Gabe was born with hip dysplasia and diagnosed with legg-Perthes disease and underwent surgery at a very young age, knowing that more intervention would be needed later in life. That time has finally come. On January 15, he will undergo a total left hip replacement, a necessary surgery that will significantly improve his quality of life, but one that requires 4–6 weeks of recovery.

He has been working at the Maricopa Library for less than a year, and unfortunately his benefits have not fully kicked in yet. While we’ve done everything we can to prepare financially, it’s difficult to plan for all of life’s unexpected expenses. During his recovery, we’ll be facing reduced income while still needing to cover rent and our regular monthly bills.

This fundraiser is meant to help ease that burden and allow him to focus on healing, without the constant stress of worrying about finances. Any support, whether through a donation or simply sharing this page, would mean more than we can put into words.
