Helping Frank and Jeanne Moore

My name is Gabe Parr and I live in Bend, Oregon. I am a lifelong angler, conservationist, and currently a friend to Frank and Jeanne Moore. I have personally been in contact with friends of the family who have spoken to the Moore Family directly about my plans to raise money for them, and they have given me permission to operate this GoFundMe page for the purpose to raise money to help Frank and Jeanne with immediate needs due to the losses incurred by the Archie Creek Fire.

Frank and Jeanne have spent their entire lives living and loving each other and the North Umpqua River and Steamboat Creek area in Oregon. If you want to learn more about their lifelong journey together as conservationists - all you have to do is Google it. There is a plethora of videos, articles and stories that can be found about them. If you want to learn more about the devastation from the wildfires in Oregon this year, and the communities who have been impacted by them - watch the news.

In March of 2019 the dream of creating a sanctuary to protect Wild Steelhead on the North Umpqua became a reality and now future generations of these fish will have a refuge where they can perpetuate permanently. We like to call it the Frank Moore Wild Steelhead Sanctuary - but it's official name is "Frank and Jeanne Moore Wild Steelhead Special Management Area".

Through all the decades they have devoted to this cause, they have never asked for anything for themselves - it has always been about their love for their community, the forest, the rivers, and the fishery.

In September 2020 after all that work, the Archie Creek Fire razed the entire area (including their lifelong home with all their belongings, mementos, etc.) to the ground. I was told that today (9/18/2020) Frank visited the location. Buildings, vehicles, and basically all of their belongings other that what little they could carry are decimated.

Frank gave his all during WWII to make sure he could come home to Jeanne. He lived through landing at Normandy, and he and Jeanne have lived through a lifetime of work to ensure nearly 100,000 acres of forest and over 50 miles of prime habitat for Winter and Summer Steelhead, Spring Chinook, Coho, and native Trout would be there for generations to come.

We are beneficiaries of their life's work. Our children and grand-children, friends, family and neighbors are all beneficiaries of their work and most of all the example they have set as stewards and genuinely compassionate people who have acted to conserve the resource they call home.

It is now up to us to show them that in their time of need, we recognize them and want to thank them for their devotion to each other and their future. Please consider donating whatever you can. All proceeds will be directed to Frank and Jeanne Moore through this portal.

****** ADDITIONAL INFO FOR THOSE INTERESTED IN THE POSTER AUCTION BELOW THIS LINE ******

The photo of the North Umpqua at Surveyor was taken in 2019 while the area was lush and in its prime, that is why the 2019 date is on it. 100% of the proceeds from these auctions will be given to Frank and Jeanne Moore. The printing is being donated by Premier Printing Solutions in Bend, Oregon and here is their website: https://www.ppsbend.com/

The photo was taken by Gabe Parr from a series of photos shot in HDR format using a drone and subsequently stitched together using Photoshop to provide a "Vertical Panorama" view of this portion of the river. The titling was also created by Gabe Parr who is donating this photo and graphic work for the auctions.

There will be simultaneous auctions posted on Facebook and Instagram each day for 5 days. That means a total of 10 posters will be auctioned off between Monday, September 21 and Friday, September 25, 2020. The daily auctions will run from 6am to 9pm PST each day and highest bidder wins the poster. The posters will be shipped directly to the winner upon confirmation of highest bid and the winner will be contacted directly. Each poster will be numbered and signed.
