Helping ferrets in need

Hi there, I just want to help these little creatures who are often misunderstood and abused, and I want to love and to care for these bouncy, spirited animals who often never get the limelight. Please help me support them, and give them the best lives they could ever dream of!

Jasmine was my first RSPCA rescue ferret. She was found in someone's garden, no one knew her age (though she was probably around her mid-years) and no one knew where she had come from. Sadly this happens a lot.

Ferrets are either released on purpose because the owner couldn't look after them due to costs, upkeep and time, or the ferret nipped them, and it is easy to get intimidated by these bouncy fluff balls due to their quirky nature, and so they are dumped in the countryside or  on the street. Other times, ferrets simply escape from their cages (they are notorious escape artists) and end up miles from home, where many get injured or worse.

I have been rescuing many others including a female ferret called Kiri who was found in someone's garden, and wasn't microchipped. We took her to the local vets but no one claimed her. Meeka was an impulse purchase for a child, and they quickly lost interest. Alvin suffered dwarfism and needed a good home.

Marley lived in too small a cage, and was another impulse purchase. He was bought when he was a baby. When he was 5 months old he was enormous, and his owner couldn't keep him anymore. Chad was found in a field. He was emaciated and starving, and he could have travelled miles, completely lost. These are just a few examples of the ferrets that have come into my care over the years.

I have always wanted to start a small fundraising campaign for ferrets who have been neglected or abused and need a good home. I have been caring for and rescuing ferrets for over 15 years and have always had a passion for them. My desire is to run a small charity, especially for ferrets, to raise money for the health care they need, such as castrations/neutering, microchipping, food costs, cages and toys.

Please donate if you can.
