Our Mother, Wife, Daughter, Sister, Aunt, Niece, Melanie has been battling bladder cancer since 2016. In August 2020 she was diagnosed with metastatic stage 4 cancer. In January, after a short stint in the hospital, she was sent home under hospice care.
Each one of us have been Mom's caretakers since this started. We have all helped with her care since she was transferred home from the hospital. Several of us have had to take a leave of absence from our jobs or give them up completely in order to be with Melanie during this time. Our family has never been the kind to ask for any form of help, at this juncture we have no other choice and absolutely need it.
None of us can leave Melanie, nor do we want to. This is why we are asking for your assistance. Your help would assist with monetary issues preventing us from being able to stay with her. This is not a choice we want to have to make; between keeping our employment over spending one of the most precious and important times with our Mother, Wife, Daughter, Sister, Aunt. In the unfortunate event that we get cuts in pay or further have to sacrifice our jobs, we have asked everyone for this help so that we can have this moment as a united family.
In conclusion, we are asking if anyone has anything that they can help with, it will be most graciously appreciated. Time is so fleeting and sacred in this tender moment. We just want to be able to cherish as much time as we may have with Mom without having to worry about the little things.
