Campaign summary:
1. Who We Are: David Allen, Gina Garcia and Raul Montaño from Mochilerosco in collaboration with El Rey Vaca, Campo y Vida, PuraChonta, and Casa Gilofia of Circasia, Colombia.
2. Where We Are From: David is a UK citizen/resident; Gina is a Colombian national. We live in the Coffee Axis region of Colombia. El Rey Vaca, Campo y Vida, PuraChonta, and Casa Gilofia are four entrepreneurs in the coffee region town of Circasia, close to badly effected Pereira and Armenia. Raul owns Mochilerosco a Colombian travel agency in Bogota.
3. Our Relationship to the Beneficiaries: We live 60 miles from the epicenter. We are personally and directly delivering aid face-to-face to our neighbouring communities severely impacted by the earthquake in Circasia, Armenia, and Pereira - all a 5 to 40 minute drive.
4. How Funds Will Be Spent: 100% of the funds will buy emergency food parcels, bottled water, purification items, tarpaulins, blankets, basic building repair materials, and first-aid kits bought directly from local Colombian suppliers.
Detail:
We were lucky to be unharmed, but our neighboring communities are facing severe damage, displacement, and an urgent need for basic necessities. Because we are located in the affected area, we are launching this fundraiser to provide direct, immediate relief to families who have lost their homes or access to essential supplies.
El Rey Vaca, Campo y Vida, PuraChonta, and Casa Gilofia, want to sponsor 10 families from the rural communities of Las Verdes, El Calabazo, Pensil, and Vista Hermosa in Calarcá, who lost everything after the earthquake.
These are families with elderly adults, women, children, and pets who now need our help. Some still do not have access to water or electricity.
Our Direct Relief Plan:
The funds raised through this campaign will be used to buy and distribute critical emergency supplies. We will distribute these items face-to-face directly to those most in need:
Food Parcels: Rice, beans, canned goods, and non-perishables.
Clean Water: Bottled water and purification supplies.
Shelter Support: Tarpaulins, blankets, and basic building repair materials.
Medical Supplies: First aid kits and essential hygiene products.
Non‑perishable food
Pet food
Clothing in good condition
Hygiene supplies
Construction materials
Any contribution you can make
How the Money Works (100% Impact):
To avoid international bank fees, we are using a direct method:
Immediate Help: We will buy all supplies using our own local Colombian bank savings. We do not have to wait for international transfers to clear.
Your Donation: Every pound (£) or peso (COP) you donate goes straight to my UK bank account and stays there to replace the personal funds we are spending on the ground.
Zero Fees: 100% of your money goes directly into emergency supplies with no international banking deductions or cross-border fees.
Tracking Our Impact & Updates
We will personally supervise the purchase and distribution of all aid. We will regularly post photo and video updates directly to this page showing:
The actual supplies purchased.
The distribution of aid to families in Circasia, Armenia, and Pereira.
Receipts for all local purchases (safely stored for compliance).
Note to International Donors (Europe & USA): Donations are displayed in British Pounds (GBP). You can safely use any European or US credit/debit card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay. Your local bank will automatically handle the conversion from Euros (€) or Dollars ($).
Thank you so much for your solidarity, generosity, and support for the people of Quindío and Risaralda in Colombia during this incredibly difficult time.
