One of the most kind, compassionate, community oriented people I have ever met is Emyn Hayden.

Emyn is a dog dad of two, writer, actor and (most well known as a) hairstylist. He is also about to get top surgery! This Febraury he is about to get gender affirming care which will change his life. But to do so - he needs to take about 2 or so months off work, which as a small business owner who is just starting out, is tough.

Emyn has been doing community pop ups with his mentor and friend, Ali Pike, since 2022. These pop ups focus on gender affirming hair care, as well as accessible hair care. These pop ups are usually pay what you can (or trade what you can at Funky Swap!), so it creates an atmosphere of accessibility that isn't found often. Emyn also strives for sensory friendly settings in his own studio - he is always trying to be as accomodating as possible. He offers home visits for those who cannot make it in, and offers sensory friendly appointments to every client.

I am so lucky to have Emyn as a friend, and St.John's is lucky to have Emyn in our community. I hope we can help make this step in his journey just a little smoother.

The donations will be used to help with bills as well as living expenses, as EI isn't an option as Emyn runs his own business.
