Helping Emerson

On December 21st Emerson Wade Barks was born with a Congenital Heart Defect (CHD) called Dextro-Transposition of the Great Arteries (D-TGA) meaning the main arteries pumping blood to and from his heart are switched, along with a narrowing of the Aorta and a hole between the upper chambers of his heart. This diagnosis meant that this little warrior needed an Arterial Switch Operation (Open Heart Surgery) to restore the blood flow through the heart and out to the rest of his body, as well as stitching up the hole and cutting out the narrow portion of his Aorta. Emerson has a long road to recovery and will potentially need medication to control his blood pressure, as well as regular trips to Edmonton for Cardiologist visits (This means a 6-hour drive one way and hotel stays).
Emerson’s parents have uprooted their lives to stay in Edmonton while his recovery takes place, meaning leaving their older daughter in the care of grandparents and daycare providers, hotel stays, food, and fuel costs all while still maintaining things at home. Adam and Stacy always jump to help others in need and now is our time. We appreciate anything you can do that might make this journey a little easier on them whether it be financially, emotionally, or spiritually, we thank you all for your support.
