As some of you may know - our husband, father, Papa and dear friend John Engle suffered a major heart attack on 3/4/21. As a result of the heart attack, he went into cardiac arrest, and got into a car accident. He did not suffer any injuries as a result of the accident. After 30 minutes of CPR he was sent to the cath lab and then to Brockton’s CCU intubated and in serious condition. Due to risks of other heart attacks, and the concern for brain damage, the family made the decision to have him moved into Boston. Saturday night he was medflighted to MGH, where he began some of the best care in the world. It was still touch and go, but due to everyone’s prayers and kind words, he began to respond the morning of 3/8/21. He is beginning to respond to commands, and even open his eyes. He is still intubated, but he’s heading in the right direction. We know he has a very long road ahead of him, but he’s headed in the right direction.
We’ve set up this Go Fund Me because this man is a fighter, and my parents are fighters. They are two of the strongest people I know, and they have worked hard to get where they are. If you know them, you know they aren’t ones to ask for help, so that’s why we’re doing it. This money will go towards the growing medical bills, future prescription costs, and any modifications that may be needed when he finally comes home. Our parent’s have done everything they ever could for us, and now it’s our turn to help them any way we can.
