The lives of Dwayne, his wife Kim and their 4 kids were changed completely in October of 2022 when a lump was discovered in Dwayne's Chest, and a couple weeks later he was diagnosed with Breast Cancer.
Less than 1 per cent were the odds for men getting Breast Cancer, and it happened to their husband and father. The medical team wasted no time, as they said it was aggressive, and he went for surgery in December of that year getting a full Mastectomy on his right side. Early the following year, Chemo began and with the support of his family and friends, he got through the less than pleasurable experience of Chemotherapy.
Once done that, he began the process of Tamoxifen which was planned for a number of years to keep Cancer Cells at bay. In 2023 his medical team felt a Mastectomy on his left side would be good for future prevention. Once done, he started to re live life again with no worries.
Fast forward to late 2024 he found himself unemployed when the company he worked for closed up in Medicine Hat. He started to then have medical issues which lead to two surgeries in his stomach, and recovery went into 2025. It was here he was then diagnosed once again, with recurrent Breast Cancer in the same area. August of this year surgery was completed to remove that section.
But it didn't end there, a PET scan in September has shown Cancer has spread into several spots of his body, in his Lungs, chest bone and muscle in chest.
Dwayne's Journey isn't over yet, he now faces the biggest battle of his life as he looks to face the challenges to overcome life's newest challenge in this war with Cancer.
Please help us help Dwayne and his family. We would like to help relieve the stress of everyday life and bills piling up. With no employment due to health, his wife having to travel with him to appointments out of town, and everyday bills - this is going to be a tough challenge for his family.
Anyone that knows Dwayne, he has never asked for anything in his life, a hard working father who would drop anything to help a friend in need. He has opened his home so many times to people and would give anything for his loved ones.
Help us help Dwayne and his family during this time, he would be the first to help any of us within his means. It's time to help him if we can.
Thank you
