After losing over 370 pounds, I gained my life back... but I was left with severe excess skin that affects me every single day.

This isn’t about cosmetics. The skin on my arms and back pulls, causes discomfort, limits my movement, and impacts my ability to do my job comfortably. I am seeking a brachioplasty and back bra lift to remove the hanging skin and improve my quality of life.

Unfortunately, no plastic surgeon in my immediate area is willing to submit my case to insurance, even though my policy would cover it if approved. Because of that, I am traveling four hours away to see a surgeon who is willing to advocate for me. However, he is out of network, which means I am responsible for 30% of the surgical costs, in addition to travel and lodging expenses.

To be fully transparent:

• Funds will go toward my 30% coinsurance responsibility

• Travel expenses (gas/transportation)

• Lodging during the surgical period

• Any required pre- or post-operative medical expenses not covered

I do have short term disability that will cover 60% of my income, so I am not raising funds for lost wages. Every dollar raised will go directly toward the medical and travel costs associated with this surgery.
